Covid Art 94: Darling Darl
I’ve named this little girl Darla (Hood) from TV’s Our Gang, produced between 1935 – 1941 but I didn’t see any of them until I was a latchkey kid in 1963, with a summer of boredom ahead of me. She was just so darn cute. Darla Hood died unexpectedly at age 47 immediately after an appendectomy.
How do I know all of this? Wikipedia has more than I’d like to know about Our Gang and I found out several of the child actors sadly died as young adults. So here, a Swiss Darla, who may have lived to be 99 years old, sits on a plate of semiconductor chips to remind me how innocence children are, and oh, don’t we wish we didn’t have to explain Covid-19 to them. This morning, I realized that the Hamilton watch I wear from my grandfather, is certainly the one he wore during the 1918 flu. Amazing.
