This might be my favorite piece on the wall. It starts with a fragment of a print that I cut away from the original, and then folded back two ‘doors’. Inside is a monoprint (that means I had just one of those, not multiple prints). The surrounding ‘sky’ is blue tinged Japanese paper. This work embodies opposites: both softness and strength, complexity and simplicity. It took courage for me to cut up the print because I am in love with my old works but this time it was definitely an improvement!
