Covid art 22: Embroidery and Electronics
When I was 16, 50 years ago, I spent the summer in Winterthur, Switzerland. At that time, I wanted to be a very distinguished craftsperson, the kind that Japan would make a National Treasurer. So I learned a lot about embroidery among other handicrafts, and I brought back to California a book with cross stitch patterns. Years later, I did make a 2′ x 4′ embroidered cloth using the patterns in this book. Fast forward to 1993 an I saw the beauty in early silicon wafers and using them as printing blocks. I recently joined them together.
